WTW?

To put the title in laymen’s terms (lol) it is “What the what?”.. This is my first attempt at blogging so here goes…………………………………. 🙂

I try to be a rational guy(emphasis try) but through all the observations I have made on the internet talking with a variety of individuals on a multitude of topics I just have to say “What the WHAT?” I am not the smartest person I know but I recognize the limitations on my own worldviews and that to me puts myself in the top 5-10% of the population while the others have etched their thoughts, ideas, life in stone as it were.

Let me give a few examples of a “What the what” is…

I have heard many people say that you cannot argue with people of “faith” (meaning Christians) and yet they themselves will try and tell you that they were people of “faith” for 30-20-10 yrs and so they know what they are talking about. Does anybody other than me see the contradiction in that statement? WTW?

or how about the people that abhor “Theism” and make video after video after video after video (you get my point) talking about religion all the while using a theistic idea as their atheistic worldview….Sounds like religion has more in them than they would like to admit…..WTW?

I realize people are strange and that we all as human beings see things more or less differently depending on culture, race, ect, ect and this blog is certainly the opinion of one person who is a seeker to the answers of questions unknown.Am I being irrational?

Thx for being here for me to rant lol

Ha, that made me laugh. I don’t think you’re being irrational, what you’re dealing with there is the Explicit Atheist. Another way to put it is Critical Atheism.

A lot of these people were once believers then become jaded when the wool is pulled from their eyes. Not much different than the childhood disappointment of realizing Santa Claus is just a child’s Rite of Passage. Some kids get through it and see it for what it is, while others harbor a grudge. So they have to keep attacking that belief because they feel a sense of personal embarrassment for having once believed.

In my observation, believers don’t become disbelievers, they just trade beliefs. They may believe in Science with as much zeal as they once did in their former religion, thus adopting Science as the new one.

As an Implicit Atheist, I didn’t really suffer this trouble. I don’t take issue with religion, Faith, beliefs and the like, but I do I call bullshit on just about anything that sounds irrational, not well thought out, or some piece of bullshit that I’m supposed to accept like a nicely frosted cup-cake.

I’ve been called a Christian Apologist, as if this social tactic works. I’ll be their Apologist if they are willing to accept their own short-comings, everyone needs a scapegoat Tim, even ‘Satanists’.

    1. I would quote the parts I can say “amen” to but that is all of it so lol!

I do not get the “embarrassment” part for I feel nothing is wasted as long as one learns from it but the truly embarrassing part for them should be how they just can’t seem to move on or as Paul might might say “Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead” Phil 3:13. Maybe these type of people could take a lesson from the bible instead of wasting time bashing it, IMO.

I learned along time ago that all things(books, lessons, relationships ect) should be treated like a mirror(a reflection of oneself) and not a window(a view of everyone else.)

Thx for the reply as always and you SinJones are definitely an exception to the rule 🙂
